Catherine T. Uy - Director of Design
catherine@bernardhotels.comFormerly with Hirsch-Bedner, the nation's leading hotel design firm, Ms. Uy established her own company in 1978. Since that time, she has been closely associated with Bernard Hotels, providing design services on several challenging turnarounds and on new construction projects.
A Chinese native of the Philippines, she graduated Cum Laude from the University of Santo Thomas, Manila, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. Later, she received her Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).Mrs. Uy possesses an innate sense of design, color, texture and lighting, which she applies artfully to guestrooms and suites, public areas, restaurants, ballrooms and meeting rooms. She has proven highly effective over the years in dramatically enhancing hotel properties, permitting our client hotels to increase room rates and profitability. All this is accomplished at a cost substantially less than that charged by the big name interior design firms from whence her career began. She delivers projects, on time, on budget.

- The Ramada Concorde Hotel, Hollywood, CA - 3 Star Commercial - 134 Room conversion from a convalescent hospital with conference, banquet, theme restaurant & lounge.
- The Ramada Hadda Hotel, Sanaa, Yemen - 5 Star Luxury Resort - 250 rooms. Planned, designed, pre-fabbed and shipped from Los Angeles and built in Sanaa.
- Holiday Inn Bay View Plaza, Santa Monica, CA - 3 Star Quasi Resort/Commercial hotel - 184 rooms. Renovation of this 10 story property with ballroom, conference rooms, lobby and restaurant facilities.
